The synthetic fibre Lycra consists of at least 85% Polyurethan. This shirred fiber can be stretched three times of its original length and can immediately return to its original length. Altogether it can be stretched seven times of its length. For the production of stockings Lycra is always used as a fibre blend which means braided, enwinded or whirled with natural or synthetic fibres. Lycra never loses its elasticity and is exceptionally soft.
